"Don't thank me. It's no problem. Any excuse to kidnap you for a few days is thanks enough," Birkin said with an optimistic smile as he lead them back the front door. It was a bit shocking to see Stein being so... Affectionate, though. No, not affectionate. Scared out of his mind. Either way, it was still strange. Birkin placed his free hand over Stein's, hoping it would calm him down a bit at least. He was supposed to be the clingy one, not the strong one, damn it.
If this is what sanity felt like, Birkin really wasn't sure he liked it.
