Stein led him back into the sitting room, but turned right and took him through another heavy metal door. They walked down another corridor and up a flight of stairs into a room with a large metal examination table dominating the room.
There were heavy leather straps with buckles at the sides and bottom of the examination table, for restraining recalcitrant subjects. They hung open right now.
"Hop up," he said cheerfully, patting the examination table. "Let me just get some equipment." And he turned to leave Junpei alone in the room.
