Not really. I was stark raving mad at the time and more concerned with using a scalpel to forcibly extract the hallucinations from my brain than with leaving a nice note.

Birkin came and got me from house arrest when he realized I'd gone nuts and been locked up.

To be fair, Kid's a student. But he's Shinigami-sama's son so he's well-connected to hear rumours.

I guess I would have thought that when someone noticed I was gone, people would be sent to find me. That would be something the students would be asked to do.

That's not really how it works at Shibusen. Those kids go on dangerous missions in which they could die every day. They don't get to know everything, but they are involved.

I'm not 'all sad'. It was just surprising.

Did you? I loved school, eventually. I hated my teachers and classmates, but I enjoyed learning to be a weapon meister.

I didn't mind studying. I just hated being treated the same as everyone else and being forced to follow arbitrary rules. I'm not much for labels.

I did a favour for Shinigami-sama. Besides, I get to do pretty much whatever I like as a teacher, so it's not a problem. So long as I make my students stronger, I can hold dissections every day! Besides, it's fun to beat them up.
